The Independent Board of Child Protection (Consejo Independiente de Protección de la Infancia (CIPI)), The Association of Childhood, Culture and Education (Asociación Infancia, Cultura y Educación (AICE)) and The Association for Peace Promotion (La Asociación Promoción Paz A.B.P.), as part of the International Tour for Childhood Project (2019) (Proyecto Internacional Gira por la Infancia (2019),) present the 2nd World Congress on Childhood and Adolescence.
After the celebration of the International Congress on Children within the context of risk (Congreso Internacional Infancia en Contextos de Riesgo), in commemoration of the XXV Anniversary of the Convention On The Rights of the Child, (Convención sobre los Derechos del niño) at Huelva University in November 2014, the seminar “Childhood, A community asset and heritage of humanity, (La infancia, un bien comunitario y patrimonio de la humanidad), held at the Autonomous University in Madrid in January 2015, The International Interuniversity Congress Against Child Poverty around the World (Congreso Internacional e Interuniversitario contra la Pobreza Infantil en el Mundo),which took place throughout 2015 and 2016 in Spain, Morocco, Portugal and Brazil, the International Congress on Participation, Social Policies and Child Protection (Congreso Internacional sobre Participación, Políticas Sociales y Protección de la Infancia), which took place in Spain in October 2017, and the 1st World Congress On Childhood, Adolescence and Youth (I Congreso Mundial sobre Infancia, Adolescencia y Juventud), which took place in Spain, Morocco and Mexico between October and November 2018, this Congress provides the continuity of all the above mentioned events and it shows the clear commitment of many social and academic entities in presenting their practical proposals and investigation results, which all contribute to the evaluation of the Convention on the Rights of Children 30 years after its proclamation.
During the course of a month and a half and over a period of 120 hours, this Congress will travel to 7 countries and 3 continents. It will incorporate the active involvement of boys and girls, adolescents and various world-renowned experts; including members of the UN Rights of the Child committee who will be taking part in the final stage of the congress in Morocco.
The dates of the final location of the congress in Tetouan, Morocco will coincide with the 30th Anniversary of the Convention of the Rights of the Child. This Congress will be considered both a scientific and academic event of the highest caliber. Experts of more than 20 different nationalities will be taking part and there will be simultaneous translation into English, Arabic and Spanish.
Seven universities, each university representing one country, will issue maximum academic and social recognition of the event by means of a notable certification. The congress will be broadcast live so that anyone can follow it. Similarly, the activities carried out by The International Tour for Childhood Project 2019 (Proyecto Internacional Gira por la Infancia 2019), who is also involved in the congress, will also be broadcast.
